Understanding Odds Formats
Different regions use different odds formats. American odds are standard in the US, Decimal odds are used in Europe and Australia, and Fractional odds are traditional in the UK.
πΊπΈ American Odds
Shows how much you win on $100 (positive) or how much you need to bet to win $100 (negative).
π Decimal Odds
Shows total return per $1 wagered, including your stake. Multiply by stake for total payout.
π¬π§ Fractional Odds
Shows profit relative to stake. 3/1 means you profit $3 for every $1 wagered.

Why Implied Probability Matters
Implied probability tells you what chance the sportsbook is giving an outcome. If you believe the true probability is higher than the implied probability, you may have found value.
Example: Finding Value
A team is listed at +200 (implied 33.3% chance). If you estimate they actually have a 40% chance to win, you have potential value because your probability exceeds the book's implied probability.
π‘ Pro Tip
Always convert odds to implied probability when evaluating bets. It's easier to compare "45% vs 40%" than "-122 vs +150". Use our EV Calculator to calculate your expected profit.
